Co-SFSC at the SSCP in Taiwan
Sustainable Consumption and Production Systems (SSCP) International Conference
On 30 October 2024, the Sustainable Consumption and Production Systems (SSCP) International Conference was held at National Taipei University.
The conference aims to promote exchanges among global academia, policymakers, and industry experts to jointly explore solutions for critical issues such as climate change, resource management, food security, and sustainable development. This conference brought together experts and scholars from Germany, Turkey, Thailand, and Sweden, as well as the National Taipei University, National Taiwan University, National Taiwan Ocean University, Feng-Chia University, and related fields. Through keynote speeches and results sharing, the event deepened the understanding of sustainability issues and provided new perspectives and innovative strategies for achieving sustainable consumption and production.
The morning session featured results shared by three Taiwanese SSCP research teams from National Taipei University, National Taiwan University, and National Taiwan Ocean University. The afternoon session was divided into two thematic forums, focusing on food supply chains and the circular economy.
Opening Ceremony and Vice President's Speech
The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Dar-Hsin Chen, Vice President of National Taipei University. Vice President Chen emphasized the vital role of SSCP concepts in addressing global climate change and resource scarcity. He also briefly introduced the efforts to promote sustainable development in Taiwan.
